Jimi Calhoun

Jimi Calhoun has an incredible resume playing the bass, including names like Parliament-Funkadelic, Dr. John, Rare Earth, and Sly Stone. He recently authored a book on racial harmony titled "A Story of Rhythm and Grace", and we worked together on a CD to accompany the book. During my music career I was fortunate to work with some very well known and creative producers and engineers such as Jerry Wexler (Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, Wilson Pickett, Dusty Springfield and Bob Dylan), Tom Dowd (Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rod Stewart, Cream, Chicago, The Allman Brothers Band, The J. Geils Band, Sonny & Cher, Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, Kenny Loggins, Herbie Mann, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin), Joel Dorn (Roberta Flack, Max Roach, Yusef Lateef, Willy DeVille, the Neville Brothers, Herbie Mann), Alby Galuten (Bee Gees), Richard Perry (The Beatles, Rod Stewart, The Pointer Sisters, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Carly Simon, Harry Nilsson, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Patti LaBelle, Martha Reeves, Art Garfunkel, The Temptations, DeBarge, Neil Diamond, Julio Iglesias/Willie Nelson, The Manhattan Transfer, Leo Sayer, Tiny Tim, Fats Domino, Ella Fitzgerald, Johnny Mathis, Burton Cummings, Randy Travis, Donna Summer, Jeffrey Osborne).

That said if I were asked to name the one producer/engineer that I enjoyed working with the most two names would come to mind: Keith Olsen, who was instrumental in guiding Fleetwood Mac's successful years, and Bryan Anderson.

Bryan may not be a household name, but my experience says that he is that good!
